Ahok: NCS Could Bring Positive Impact to Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) officially opened the New Cities Summit (NCS) in Jakarta. The event which attended by 800 participants from 45 countries are hoped to bring significant change for development in capital.

I assumed, Jakarta is need more muscle than brains because we have known the solution and we only need to execute it, we dare to run the program or not

"We hoped Jakarta will get significant change with this event," he hoped in Ciputra World, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (6/9).

According to him, Jakarta were chosen as this year host because facing complex problems in its development such as flood, traffic jam, dirty settlements, and corruption.

Jakarta to Host 2015 New Cities Summit

"Besides facing annual problems such as flooding, we also fight against bad bureaucracy and corruption," he told.

He ensured, the Jakarta leader is only need brave to solve the problem in Jakarta because during today, there are many solutions that offered to solve the problem in capital such as congestion but there still no one who dare to execute it.

"I assumed, Jakarta is need more muscle than brains because we have known the solution and we only need to execute it, we dare to run the program or not," he told.

In the event that will take place until upcoming 11 June 2015, Ahok also asked all participants to share information each other.

In the same time, the New Cities Foundation Head, John Rossannt uttered, the 2015 New Cities Summit is also a good chance to show Jakarta and Asian urbanization context and discussing all problem that faced by all cities. "The global discussion is also very important to give positive impact for our cities in future," he explained.

Rossant also give appreciation to Ahok, because he look Ahok had worked very hard to develop Jakarta. "Mr. Ahok is an inspiring leader and could be emulated by other leaders. I believe his work hard will give positive impact to the Jakarta development," John told.
